Ana was created as a prototype, the first that truly worked, and became the life's work of an inventor named Robert. She was the fourth he tried to imbue with intelligence, the one that actually worked. He worked on her for about 25 years, innovating and creating, on the whim of the ruler of his kingdom, who wanted a weapon to produce over and over to win any war ever. Over these years, Ana learned about the world and the art of creation that she believed (and still believes to some extent) that she cannot participate in.
However, when she was completed, her creator realized he didn't want to help the ruler, after he caught Ana humming along to him playing the violin. He decided to turn her off, hide her, and run. Anyone who finds her will find a note saying something along the lines of "keep her safe, teach her about the world. And tell her I'm sorry.".
